RunPlot privacy policy

Effective 8 October 2026.

What we collect and why

You may use RunPlot without an account. We keep each route we generate, with its start point and settings, so that you can return to it. We count your use of the app to apply usage limits.

If you create an account we collect your email address, a password if you set one, and what you enter or save in the app, such as settings, saved locations and saved routes. We use your address to identify your account and to send sign-in codes and account notices. We also keep records of your sign-ins, plan and trial. If you sign in with Apple, we collect the identifier and email address Apple provides, which may be an Apple relay address.

We also count which screens are opened and a few actions, in the app and on our website, on our own server and not linked to your account or device. A browser that sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control is not counted. Our servers keep access logs, including your network address, for security.

Location

With your permission the app reads your location only while it is in use, to centre the map and to set the start point of your routes. It is sent to our server and to the service providers below only as a start point. You may withdraw location permission at any time in your device settings. Without it, we estimate a rough area from your network address and do not keep it.

Disclosure

We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising or tracking. We share personal information with the service providers we use to run the app, such as mapping, place search and email services, and with Apple for Sign in with Apple and App Store purchases, only as needed to provide the service. Some of these providers are in the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom. We may also disclose personal information where the law requires it.

The only information shared between users is an anonymous popularity score per path, derived from saved routes and imported history. We may block an account or device that misuses the service. Our servers are in Australia.

Retention and deletion

We keep personal information for as long as it is needed to provide the service or as the law requires. A route you have not saved or shortlisted is deleted seven days after it was generated. Information held under your account is kept until you delete it or your account. Backups are kept for up to 14 days.

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion removes your account and the information held under it. Anonymous totals, block records and the subscription record remain, with no email address or account reference. If you delete your Apple Account and have no other way to sign in, we delete your RunPlot account.

Purchases

RunPlot Premium is sold through the App Store. We keep a record of your subscription. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription.

Access, correction and complaints

You may change your email address, settings, saved locations and saved routes in the app. To request access to, correction of or deletion of other personal information, or to ask about this policy, email support@runplot.com. We reply within 30 days.

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, email the same address. If you are not satisfied with our reply, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
